The King crowned the victory at Bochum – and how! Around 70 minutes were played against VfL, with the score at 4-0 to FC Bayern and the game already long over as a contest, but Kingsley Coman had one more thing up his sleeve. The France international took a quick step inside on the left corner of the penalty area before curling the ball into the far corner, and with the help of the underside of the bar it nestled into the net. The final act of the away game at the Ruhrstadion couldn't have been much nicer.
Improbable goal gets over 28% of votes
The supporters of the German record champions agreed and chose Coman's strike as their FC Bayern Goal of the Month for October 2024. The winger received 28.5 percent of the votes in the fan poll, narrowly edging Michael Olise's delightful free kick from the same game (26.3%). Third place went to Luca Denk of FC Bayern II with his long-range rocket in the Regionalliga match against Eintracht Bamberg.
A look at the stats also proves that Coman's effort at Bochum was not just any old goal. According to DFL data, the Frenchman's attempt had a goal probability of 1.9 percent, making it currently the most improbable goal of this season.
