FC Bayern will host holders Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the round of 16 of the DFB Cup. That's the outcome of the draw at the German Football Museum in Dortmund on Sunday evening. DFB sporting director Rudi Völler conducted the draw, with saxophonist André Schnura – who gained fame from his performances during the European Championship in the summer – picking out the pairings.
Eighth cup clash with Leverkusen
It's the eighth time that the record cup winners face the Werkself in the competition. FCB have triumphed in six of the seven previous clashes, most recently in the final in 2020, when the Munich men won 4-2. The sole loss came in the 2009 quarter-finals, when Leverkusen edged it 4-2.
Tie to be played on 3/4 December
The last-16 ties will be played on 3 and 4 December, with the exact kick-off times to be confirmed by the German Football Association in the coming days. As is traditional, the final takes place at Berlin's Olympiastadion following the end of the Bundesliga season on 24 May 2025.
