Alongside international music stars such as Shawn Mendes, Nelly Furtado and Hozier, FC Bayern celebrated its ‘Red Against Racism’ hat-trick at SUPERBLOOM, with over 100,000 visitors taking part in the festival in Munich’s Olympic Park. For the third time in a row, the FCB diversity and anti-discrimination initiative was part of the music festival's social programme. The information stand was extremely popular, with the focus on the anti-discrimination quiz developed by the ‘Red Against Racism’ team and the Bundesliga women's opening match on 6th September at the Allianz Arena (kick-off 17:45 CEST) for which tickets could be won and over 50,000 tickets have already been sold.
As in previous years, the ‘Red Against Racism’ tattoos were a big hit among festivalgoers. In addition, shirts, pins, key rings, bracelets, postcards and guidance on what to do if someone is discriminated against or witnesses discrimination were in demand. The initiative is regularly present at various events outside of sport to raise awareness of diversity by looking beyond the touchlines. The association wants to be a formative part of social life. Among other things, it has therefore introduced a new volunteer programme called ‘PACK MA'S’, in which members can actively get involved to support others.
This is by no means the first time that sport and music have joined forces as part of ‘Red Against Racism’. In addition to previous collaborations at SUPERBLOOM 2023 and 2024, an anthem for the initiative was presented this year in collaboration with the Jewish Chamber Orchestra Munich, and in previous years, the festival at the Olympic Park has focused on the topic of inclusion, among other things, together with the deaf fan club ‘Red Deaf’, with fan club members presenting the sign language they have developed for FC Bayern players. Artists such as Jason Derulo, Jordan Miller from ‘thebeaches’ and Bill and Tom Kaulitz from ‘Tokio Hotel’ presented FC Bayern jerseys and lifestyle shirts, and the German record champions' KIDS CLUB has also been represented at SUPERBLOOM in the past. In addition, ‘Red Against Racism’ is a regular part of panel discussions on diversity at the festival.
