Jamal Musiala working to come back stronger from injury

While most of his Bayern teammates were either away with their national teams or training with the squad at Säbener Straße on Monday, Jamal Musiala was again working hard towards his comeback with his fitness coaches. Our new No.10 has been out of action since breaking his leg and ankle at the FIFA Club World Cup in the summer. “I think you learn a lot during an injury,” the forward told fcbayern.com. “For example, I see how much fun you normally have and how much I love football. And you have the time to calmly look at everything you can do better. You don’t have that time to think about everything on the pitch. And obviously I want to come back better.”

Musiala has been on the sidelines for several months alongside Alphonso Davies (cruciate ligament) and Hiroki Ito (metatarsal). All three have gotten closer during their intense recovery and are pushing each other forward. “We see each other every day and try to keep the motivation high for one another. It helps when you have good people around you,” Davies previously revealed.

The Canada international and Musiala are known for their love of music and take turns in choosing the songs played during their sessions. “Music is and remains my life,” the Germany international said, while also explaining that he currently enjoys some downtime after training. “I’ve been with my family almost the whole time since my injury. They’ve helped me a lot, also to be able to switch off from everything.” Apart from that, the 22-year-old also likes to play video games in between cheering on his team in real life. And he’s had plenty of reason to be pleased with what he’s seen, after 10 wins from as many games so far this season. “You can see how well we’re playing, how much fun everyone’s having. I want to be a part of that and back on the pitch, also with Phonzy. We want to have fun after our injuries and make sure we win a lot as a team,” Musiala added.
