Reaction to Rottach-Egern friendly - Aleksandar Pavlović: 'It's an amazing feeling every time'

The FC Bayern camp were highly satisfied following the 15-0 thumping win over FC Rottach-Egern to finish the training camp at Tegernsee. Before heading to Asia on the Audi Summer 2026 on Saturday, head coach Vincent Kompany, Aleksandar Pavlović, Jonathan Tah and sporting director Christoph Freund answered questions. fcbayern.com has compiled the post-match reaction for you.

Sporting director Christoph Freund before the match: “It shows FC Bayern’s connection to the region, to Bavaria and to the fans. When you see what’s been going on here in the last few days, it was wonderful. We’ve had a full house every day and now the match, very close to the fans. It’s been a nice week. Various players have come back, so we’ve been able to train with a bigger group again for the first time. The intensity has been very good. You can see everyone’s having fun. The weather and the conditions help with that. We’ve felt very well looked after and have been able to start working on some sporting aspects.”

Vincent Kompany: “We had the ball for 90 minutes today against opponents who sat deep. Although the spaces were bigger, you can still identify something in our processes. We’re at home in Bavaria, everything here has a special feeling of home for us, so it’s always lovely to come here. We’re only concentrating on football and on raising our level in pre-season. Of course, not all the guys are here yet, but those we do have are all looking really good, which is important – because eventually everything has to come together.”

Aleksandar Pavlović: “It was great fun with the guys, everyone was up for scoring goals and playing football. Defensively we also stood up well, it was really enjoyable. I recovered, had a nice holiday with family and friends, I’m in top shape and am raring to go this season. From every setback, like the one we had at the World Cup, you have to take the positives, which I’ve done. Now I want to show what I’m capable of and celebrate successes with the team. It’s an amazing feeling every time here at Tegernsee, when the little boys and girls scream my name. I was one of them once, a little lad calling the names of the players. I think it’s always good when we come here and can give joy to the people here.”

Jonathan Tah: “It was good to keep a clean sheet. I’m really happy to be back here and immediately felt that the energy is good. It’s just fun. I’m raring to go and I get the feeling that all the lads feel the same. The World Cup is in the past. I analyse things and try to quickly move on and process them rationally, so I’m looking forward to the new season. It’s about working hard every day, preparing well in every training session and winning every match. The most important thing is to focus on the here and now.”
