After the 2-0 success at Atlético Madrid, FC Bayern remain the only team in Europe’s big five leagues who are still unbeaten in all competitions this season. It was the Munich men’s 10th win in their 15th match. It was also the first time in almost exactly 30 years that the Spanish side have lost a European home match against a German club. Atléti were unbeaten in 16 meetings (W12, D4) since a 1-0 reverse to Borussia Dortmund on 16 October 1996.

On Tuesday morning, the Bayern boys already got their temperatures up ahead of the hotly anticipated clash at Atlético Madrid this evening. The team were allowed to use the training ground of Atlético’s city rivals Real Madrid for the obligatory activation session.

Bayern will be battling for valuable points in the league phase of the Champions League tonight, at the venue where the final will be held in six months’ time. The German record champions meet Atlético Madrid at the Estadio Metropolitano at 21:00 CET – follow the action with our live text.

The Munich men have arrived in Madrid, the press conference with Harry Kane and Aaron Danks is in the can – the team are now at the hotel, where they’re continuing their preparations for tomorrow’s cracker at the Metropolitano. After the top-of-the-table clash against Dortmund, up next is the match at Atlético Madrid. October has barely ended but FC Bayern’s busy schedule continues: they already face Atlético in the Champions League as early as Tuesday. After that, there are five competitive matches in November, four of which are away from home. Following the game against 1. FSV Mainz 05 (7 November), the league will take a two-week break. The internationals in the Bayern squad will be on duty for their countries between 9 and 17 November. Afterwards, Bayern will host 1. FC Köln at the Allianz Arena on 20 November, before travelling to France to face Lille (25 November) and then go up north to take on Hamburger SV (28 November).

Both before and after the matches, the coach, players and club officials will as usual share their thoughts in the pre-match press conferences. What’s more, you’ll once again be able to watch the first 15 minutes of the final training session live ahead of the matches at Atlético and in Lille.

There are also two players celebrating birthdays in November: Alphonso Davies turns 26 on 2 November, whilst Minjae turns 30 on 15 November.

Although FC Bayern could only manage a draw in the top-of-the-table clash against Borussia Dortmund, they did extend their run: the record champions are still unbeaten in what was their 23rd consecutive Bundesliga match (17 wins, 6 draws). No other team in the top five leagues is currently enjoying such a long unbeaten run in their league. Harry Kane, the newly crowned Ballon d’Or winner, has played a major part in this: in just 13 competitive matches this season, he’s provided eight assists – already one more than in his 51 appearances last season. Among players in the top five leagues across all competitions this season, only Lamine Yamal (10) has recorded more assists than the Bayern striker.

There was no separating Bayern and Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena, as a 2-2 draw keeps the Bundesliga’s top two tied on points at the top of the table.

Bayern were out on the training ground at Säbener Straße in the afternoon as they went through their final preparations to face Borussia Dortmund. Joshua Kimmich was also back out on the training ground after some time away following a family bereavement.

“It’s a big game that the whole world will be watching,” said Aaron Danks as he continued to cover media duties for Vincent Kompany when speaking ahead Saturday’s match against Borussia Dortmund. “There won’t be any big changes. We’re ready for the game. Dortmund are very good defensively, don’t conceded many, but they also have good forwards. Following the cup match against Magdeburg, all eyes are already turning to Saturday evening’s top-of-the-table Bundesliga clash between FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund (18:30 CET). The Munich side head into Der Klassiker on the back of an impressive run of home form: the record champions have scored 18 goals in their first three matches on their home turf this season – more than any other club at this stage in Bundesliga history. Two young talents from the FC Bayern Campus celebrated major milestones as FCB progressed to the round of 16 in the DFB Cup against 1. FC Magdeburg. Tim Binder came off the bench in the 75th minute to make his competitive debut for the German record champions' first team, while David Santos came on in the 82nd minute and scored the final goal of the match in stoppage time to make it 6–1. It was the 19-year-old's first goal in his third appearance in an FCB shirt. Congratulations to both debutants!

FC Bayern had lots to celebrate on 28 October 2023. Not just the fact that they played Darmstadt 98 off the park in an 8-0 rout at the Allianz Arena, but it was also the game in which Aleksandar Pavlović made his professional debut for the German record champions. And the then 19-year-old got to see an absolutely special goal up close. Harry Kane beat Darmstadt goalkeeper Marcel Schuhen with a shot from the halfway line, which rightly earned him the FC Bayern Goal of the Season for 2023/24 – you can watch it again here.

Ahead of Wednesday's DFB Cup tie against 1. FC Magdeburg, Aaron Danks once again stressed the importance of not underestimating the supposed underdogs from Bundesliga 2: “They’re a good team with a good coach, good ideas and sound principles. They’re in good form and have made a good start to the season,” explained the Englishman: "This is a highlight for them. We'll need to match the energy we've brought recently to show what we’re capable of.”

In the afternoon, the Munich side had their final training session, during which a wonderful surprise awaited Harry Kane and Co. Following his Ballon d’Or triumph, numerous FC Bayern staff members welcomed the team, including the new best footballer in the world, at the training ground.

On 27 October 2001, FC Bayern suffered a bit of a mishap during their away match at 1. FC Köln, which forced them to get particularly creative. As the kit man at the time had forgotten the set of away jerseys and the home side were also playing in red, the reigning champions had to improvise. Without further ado, the president at the time, Uli Hoeneß, personally cut the sleeves off the white warm-up jerseys, and the players then pulled these on over their normal shirts – the unique outfit was complete!

And Bayern duly christened their ‘new’ strip with a 2–0 win. Claudio Pizarro felt particularly at home in it; the Peruvian scored both goals.

The first rankings have been announced at the Ballon d’Or 2026! Ahead of the main prize presentation, places 11 to 30 were declared. And two FC Bayern players were represented, with Luis Díaz coming in at 24th and Dayot Upamecano landing in 26th place. The top 10 will be announced over the course of the evening.

The day after the 3-1 win at SC Freiburg, Minjae Kim and Aleksandar Pavlović, who both sat out the trip to the Breisgau with knocks, trained individually with the ball at Säbener Straße. Meanwhile, the players who featured in the match completed a recovery session in the performance centre on Monday morning.

Serge Gnabry reached a milestone with his goal to make it 2-0 at Freiburg. It was the forward’s 100th goal in his 267th Bundesliga appearance – 79 for Bayern, 11 for Bremen and 10 for Hoffenheim. He becomes the 57th player to reach triple figures in the competition. Teammate Harry Kane and Hoffenheim’s Andrej Kramarić are the only other active Bundesliga players with Gnabry in the 100 club.

FC Bayern stayed top of the Bundesliga thanks to the 3-1 win at Freiburg. Curiously, it’s the first time this season that the team in first place in the German top flight has won. Next the record champions face second-placed Dortmund in the Klassiker on Saturday.

A knockout match and ‘Der Klassiker’ in the Bundesliga are in store for Bayern this week. On Wednesday (20:45 CET), the Bavarians battle it out against second-tier 1. FC Magdeburg for a place in the last 16 of the DFB Cup. Then on Saturday, the league leaders host closest challengers Borussia Dortmund in a true top-of-the-table clash at the Allianz Arena. The team will have one training session before each fixture, otherwise it will just be regenerative sessions given the packed schedule at the moment.

In addition to that, there’s a big highlight at the start of this week with the Ballon d’Or ceremony in London, where a number of FC Bayern players have hopes of prizes. Regardless of who wins what, there’ll be at least one thing to celebrate at FCB this week in any case, as Dayot Upamecano – a goalscorer in the 3-1 win at Freiburg at the weekend – celebrates his 28th birthday on Tuesday.

Bayern’s best away performance of the season brought them a 3-1 win at Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday. Dayot Upamecano and Serge Gnabry earned a 2-0 half-time lead, before the hosts got back into the game with Tom Bischof’s own goal. But Michael Olise wrapped up all three points in added time.

Luis Díaz picked up a minor muscle fibre tear in his left hamstring during FC Bayern’s Champions League game against Arsenal on Wednesday night. The injury was confirmed by examinations carried out by the FC Bayern medical unit. As a result, the 29-year-old attacking midfielder will be sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Following the gruelling clash with Arsenal in the Champions League, FC Bayern kicked off their preparations for this weekend’s match at SC Freiburg with a recovery session. Vincent Kompany’s side worked out at the performance centre on Säbener Straße and won't return to the pitch for another session until Friday.

The fact that the upcoming match against the Black Forest side doesn't kick off until Sunday evening (17:30 CEST) gives the Munich men more than just an extra day to recover. Looking at the stats, Harry Kane and his teammates are also likely to be pleased with the date of the fixture – FCB have won all five of their most recent Sunday kick-offs in the Bundesliga and could even set a new club record with another victory against SCF. On 22 October 2025, FC Bayern hosted Brugge in a Champions League clash at the Allianz Arena and came away with a commanding 4–0 victory. Lennart Karl also played his part, scoring on his first start in the Champions League – and, at the age of just 17 years and 242 days, becoming the youngest-ever German player to score in the Champions League.

In the 2–2 draw against Arsenal, Harry Kane not only set up Alphonso Davies’ equaliser with a dream pass, but also doubled the Munich men’s lead himself just after the break. This earned the Englishman the well-deserved Man of the Match award from UEFA.

For Kane, it was already the tenth consecutive match in the competition in which he'd scored at least one goal. Only one player in Champions League history has had a longer scoring run – Cristiano Ronaldo once did it in 11 consecutive matches.

FC Bayern drew 2-2 with Arsenal in a high-quality and hard-fought contest on Wednesday night. Trailing 1-0, FCB turned the game around thanks to goals from Davies and Kane, but Rice equalised late for the visitors.

Ahead of tonight’s match against Arsenal at the Allianz Arena, the Munich men gathered for a light session at Säbener Straße this morning as they warmed up for the Champions League showdown in the obligatory ‘activation’.

Bayern came away from their away match at Werder Bremen on 21 October 2006 without any points, but with a historic achievement. In the 3-1 defeat at the Weserstadion, Roy Makaay scored the goal that made it 2-1 and that brought up 3,000 Bundesliga goals for the Munich club – no other team had reached this mark at that point. The Dutchman’s strike was spectacular as well as historic. The scissor kick would’ve fully deserved the title of ‘Goal of the Month’, but that went to the other side. Bremen’s Diego hammered the ball into the roof of Oliver Kahn’s net 20 minutes before and then came out on top in the ARD Sportschau vote.

Twenty years on from that game in Bremen, Bayern are on 4,758 Bundesliga goals and lead the all-time scoring chart in the German top flight by some distance. In fact, only five other clubs have passed the 3,000 mark in the meantime: Borussia Dortmund (3,679), Bremen (3,412), VfB Stuttgart (3,332), Borussia Mönchengladbach (3,343) and Eintracht Frankfurt (3,068).

Assistant coach Aaron Danks stood in for his boss at the press conference and looked ahead to the match against the Gunners: “For us, it’ll be about imposing our style of play on the game. Bayern kicked off their preparations for Wednesday's Champions League home game against Arsenal with an intensive afternoon training session on Monday. The Munich side will then work on the final details for the clash with the Premier League champions tomorrow – you can follow all the build-up via our live blog.

A clash of champions in Europe's premier club competition and a trip to face their closest rivals in the Bundesliga – FC Bayern face two tough challenges over the next seven days. On Wednesday evening (21:00 CEST), the German record champions host the Premier League champions at the Allianz Arena on Champions League Matchday 3. On Sunday (17:30 CEST), they then travel to third-placed SC Freiburg. To prepare for these matches, Vincent Kompany has scheduled a total of four training sessions on the pitch this week. As always ahead of Champions League fixtures, the first 15 minutes of Tuesday’s final training session will be broadcast live on our channels. The same applies to the press conferences before and after the two competitive matches against Arsenal and Freiburg.

Amidst all the excitement of the result against Leipzig and Luis Díaz’s hat-trick, it was almost easy to forget that Harry Kane also made his 100th Bundesliga appearance and marked the occasion with his 102nd goal. No player had ever scored that many after a century of games in Germany’s top flight. The English striker also provided two assists against Leipzig, meaning he has a league-best nine goal contributions in 2026/27.

Fifteen seriously ill children, teenagers and young adults from the oncology department at the Hauner Children’s Hospital in Munich had already attended the team’s training session at Säbener Straße on Thursday afternoon, accompanied by their families. Afterwards, the guests – aged between five and 20 – were allowed to take selfies with the players and have a brief chat with them. Mascot Berni was, of course, also there and handed out presents to the young fans. “You want to do good and not talk about it. But I think that when you do something good, it can have another, positive effect on us. Perhaps one or two people will then be inspired to do something or offer their support,” Joshua Kimmich once said during a visit to the children’s hospital.

Vincent Kompany spoke today at his pre-match press conference before hosting RB Leipzig tomorrow. “We know about Leipzig’s strengths. You can see they’ve made a few changes. That’s helped the team. They’re coming here with confidence,” the Belgian said. He also insisted that it won’t change how his team approach Saturday’s game: “We’re at home. We want to attack. Today marks 64 years since Bayern – then playing in the regional Oberliga prior to the Bundesliga’s introduction the following season – first appeared on the European stage as they faced a Basel City XI in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. Goals from Dieter 'Mucki' Brenninger (pictured above four years later) and Jakob Drescher gave FCB a 3-0 home win. That guaranteed progress to the next round because Basel withdrew from the second leg.

The Fairs Cup wasn’t organised by UEFA at the time. Teams didn’t qualify but were invited as representatives of cities. The competition, which ran from 1955 to 1971, was set up to promote international trade fairs.

Bayern returned home from Stavanger this afternoon. Harry Kane was named Player of the Match on Tuesday night after his brace and clever ball for the third goal.

It saw Kane continue his remarkable scoring record in the Champions League for Bayern. Since he moved to Munich in summer 2023, he’s netted 36 goals in 40 European fixtures for the club. The next best players over the same period are Kylian Mbappé (31 goals) and Erling Haaland (24).

Bayern battled back from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 away at Viking after much improved second-half performance, but the Reds had to settle for a point in the Champions League after conceding a late equaliser with ten men in Stavanger.

To get their circulation and metabolism going on the morning of the match and to warm up their muscles and joints, Harry Kane, Joshua Kimmich and the rest of the squad completed a light activation session as usual. The aim of the session in Stavanger, Norway, was to ensure that FC Bayern are fully prepared for the intense 90 minutes on artificial turf on Tuesday evening.

After arriving in Stavanger in the afternoon, Jonathan Tah and Vincent Kompany faced the media at their press conference to preview Tuesday’s game. The squad then held their training session at the Lyse Arena to get a feeling for the artificial pitch there.

“It’s the Champions League. Every game is a challenge. If we come here and say we want to remain Bayern, then it’s a question of mentality. It’s a really special game for Viking, but I don’t want anyone to feel like it’s not important for us. It doesn’t matter what the game brings tomorrow, we need to go into it thinking that anything can happen and we’re prepared for it all,” said our head coach. While his teammates are up in Norway, Jamal Musiala has been continuing his efforts to return to full fitness. This morning he completed a running session and worked with the ball outside on the pitch at Säbener Straße.

Bayern have two more crucial fixtures coming up this week, starting away at Viking in the Champions League on Tuesday before hosting RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga on Saturday. We’ll hear from Kompany ahead of both matches as usual, plus get to watch the first 15 minutes of training in Norway.

Bayern had 29 shots, scored two goals but also had four ruled out for offside as they had to settle for a point away at neighbours Augsburg. “It was an unfortunate draw,” said Joshua Kimmich afterwards. “We’re not happy, because we wanted to win. Vincent Kompany is expecting the first match of what will be an intense autumn to be a tough one. “What sets FCA apart is that they're very compact and can be very dangerous on the ball. They’ve got a lot of individual quality - more than people sometimes realise. Vincent Kompany welcomed back Bayern’s international players for a 90-minute training session on Thursday afternoon as the squad began their preparations for Augsburg and the busy month ahead.

Jamal Musiala was out on the pitch at Säbener Straße on Thursday as he works towards his comeback from a minor muscle tear. The 23-year-old attacker worked with fitness coach Simon Martinello prior to team training. Musiala had sustained the injury in his right thigh a fortnight ago while warming up for Germany’s UEFA Nations League clash in the Netherlands.

Michael Olise and Harry Kane were already in good form prior to the international break, with the Frenchman bagging his first Bayern hat-trick in the 7-0 win over Union Berlin and the Englishman becoming the fastest player ever to 100 Bundesliga goals, in only 98 appearances.

And the pair aren’t just impressing in the Bundesliga but also when compared to the best in Europe. Olise has been directly involved in 24 league goals in 2026, which is the most in Europe’s top five leagues alongside Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal. Bayern attacker Lennart Karl has been shortlisted for the 2026 Golden Boy. The 18-year-old is one of the 25 finalists, putting him among the best under-21 players in Europe. The honour has been awarded since 2003 by Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport. A panel of 50 journalists will decide on the winner in early December. At the same time, the fan vote for the Golden Boy Web is under way.

FC Bayern’s 1–1 draw at Bremen on 7 October 1978 went down in the annals of the German record champions. After Werder’s Franz Hiller had opened the scoring in the first half, Wolfgang Rausch equalised just over an hour into the match – scoring FC Bayern’s 1,000th Bundesliga goal in the process. FC Bayern held their first team training session on Monday afternoon in preparation for the Bundesliga clash at FC Augsburg with Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Luis Díaz, Jonathan Tah, Alphonso Davies and Nathaniel Brown, amongst others, all taking part. Coach Vincent Kompany put his squad – which was bolstered by a number of youth players – through their paces during a session lasting just over an hour. The FCB internationals are set to return to training in the coming days.

Before things really heat up again for FC Bayern with four straight weeks with both weekend and midweek fixtures, coach Vincent Kompany’s side still has a full week of training ahead of them. The first team training session ahead of Bundesliga Matchday 5 this coming Saturday (15:30 CEST) at FC Augsburg took place on Monday afternoon. The internationals will gradually return to Munich over the coming days and rejoin training.

Dayot Upamecano left the France national team’s training camp in Clairefontaine on Saturday to return to Munich. The defender was sent off towards the end of Friday evening’s 1–1 draw with Italy and is suspended for Les Bleus in their final match of the current round of internationals against Belgium on 5 October.
