FC Bayern Women and adidas present special-edition jersey with LeGer by Lena Gercke

Following the successful launch of FC Bayern Women’s first own specially designed jersey in March, the team have now released a special kit that doesn’t only stand for female empowerment but also carries a second crucial message during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. The new kit was developed together with adidas and LeGer by Lena Gercke to raise awareness for breast cancer prevention together with Allianz and the German Breast Cancer Society (DKMS).

Lena Gercke: “I’ve been supporting DKMS and its ‘look good feel better’ patient programme for many years. I've seen for myself how the programme has given patients courage and hope. It’s very special for me that we are raising awareness of Pink October even more with our second joint FC Bayern jersey and drawing attention to the screening programme. There are great names behind this cooperation, and we are all united by the good cause. I’m very proud of our collaboration.”

Daphne Böcker, Co-CEO of Allianz Kunde und Markt: “I personally know the feeling of having to take care of others first. And on top of that, preventive care is not exactly on my list of favourite things to do. This combination means that what is actually most important, your own health, ends up falling by the wayside. Many people will probably be like me. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in Germany and can affect anyone. What we can do ourselves is to take preventive care into our own hands and actively attend appointments in good time. I’m happy and grateful that we are sending out a strong signal in the fight against breast cancer with this special jersey together with the Bayern players. We would also like to wish all those affected strength and confidence.”

The jersey is characterised by a playful and feminine design and embodies the spirit of women in football. Pink elements symbolise awareness and support in the fight against breast cancer as part of Pink October. In addition to the jersey, a matching collection has been designed with a small heart inspired by jersey elements. FC Bayern Women will wear the special jersey for the first time in their match away at Wolfsburg on 12 October (5.45pm CEST). The pink ribbon can again be found on the jersey this year. Each number on the back is adorned with the symbol. The jerseys and the collection are now available in all FC Bayern stores and online.

This year’s campaign continues the successful breast cancer prevention initiative that the club carried out last year together with Allianz and takes it to a new level. In 2023, Bayern had the Allianz Arena lit up in special pink lighting after its women's Bundesliga match against Eintracht Frankfurt. The Munich Frauen also wore a special jersey back then, in which Allianz, as the jersey sponsor, had transformed the colour of its logo into pink and added a ribbon, the international symbol in the fight against breast cancer.

According to estimates by the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin, around 70,000 women and 770 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Germany alone. With its ‘look good feel better’ patient programme, DKMS offers free cosmetic seminars to women with cancer. The aim is to help them cope better with the external changes that occur during treatment. Donations can also be made at the payment terminals in all FCB stores from 10 October and at the men's game against VfB Stuttgart on 19 October (6.30pm) in the Allianz Arena. FC Bayern will be using the Adyen Giving function of its payment solution partner Adyen. After the final whistle, the Allianz Arena will once again be lit up in special pink lighting, as it was in 2023.

FC Bayern Women and LeGer by Lena Gercke launched their partnership last year. Since then, LeGer has kitted out the women’s team for their travels to Champions League matches. This co-operation is more than just a fashion partnership; above all, it sends out a message that women in football are going their own way.
